Effective psychotherapy starts with an alliance built on trust. I strive to create an authentic relationship with my clients rooted in empathy, honesty, and shared decision-making. Together, we’ll explore your past patterns and present needs in order to create a meaningful future. I’ve worked with individuals who’ve experienced challenges related to depression, anxiety, past trauma, major life transitions, sexuality/sexual identity, and stress related to relationships and work. I’ve also worked extensively with individuals who identify as LGBTQIA.
My passion for psychotherapy stems from the belief that everyone has the ability to recover and transform. I employ modalities aimed at facilitating the change process, including Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as interventions based in Narrative Therapy and Trauma-Informed treatment. My practice also utilizes an anti-oppressive lens that emphasizes cultural competency and respect.
In addition to providing individual psychotherapy, I have experience facilitating treatment groups on topics that have included Coping Skills, Relationships, and Social Skills.
Outside of the office, I enjoy exploring the city’s parks and museums, especially The Met. I’m also an avid reader and enjoy following the news. I’m also a dedicated fan of Marvel Comics and U.Va. athletics.
